Why Do I “Makes Money Moves” ? I Have No Reason To Tbvh, I’m One Of Those People Who Just Have To Go To School, Come Out, Get Behind The Desk, Get A Husband, Start A Family, Vacation During Leave And I’ll Be Satisfied, Well To Do Financially And Very Happy Till I Retire....People Like This Are Also Creatives And Passionate And Their Passion Are Like Hobbies Not Careers, Yk Like Being A Doctor And Seldomly Doing Music Amd Getting It....

Anyways, So I Turned My Talents To Passion To Money To Obsession, I Overwork Myself Tbh (Well I Used To) Till I Exhausted The Genius In Me, I Have Little Ideas Left, Thinking Gives Me Migraine, Actions Are A No No And They Say I Have “Creative’s Block”, That’s No Problem 

The Problem Now Is, I’m Fading Away, Oyiza Is Turning To Thin Air Which Shouldn’t Be A Problem Because I Always Wanted To Be A Ghost, Well Not Just Any Kind Of Ghost, Kendrick Lamar Kind Of Ghost, Everyone Knows Me But No One Knows What I’m Up To ! 

That Brings Us To The Main Reason I Started Working In The First Place, I Was Alienated By Society, Was It My Voice, My Looks, My Eyes, My “Weirdness”, I Was Tired Of Being Called Different, Being Called Four Eyes, Being Asked Why My Voice Was Tiny, I Was TIRED !!! Then In Relationships (I’m Talking Friendship & Love Too & Maybe Family), There Were Times People Left, Just Left Me, The Reasons They Gave Were Not Good Enough You Know, I Was/Am Always Certain It Was Me, I Felt Unloved You Know So I Had To Find A Way To Make Me Stand Out That Even Amidst My Flaws, Someone Would Love Me And Have A Good Reason To Show Me Off And Keep Me

But What Happens Now That I’m Fading ? Back To Bully Stage ? I Know I Don’t Need Nobody Else’s Validation But  ...... 

SERIOUSLY, WHAT IS LOVE ?!

No One Has Been Able To Define It, Lots Of Professors And Individuals Have Tried But No One Has Really Come To A Conclusion, Priests Define It Differently From Musicians And Everyone Just Has A Different Definition, Is It Because They’ve Had Different Experiences ? The Amount Of Rain That Falls In My City Might Not Be The Same That Falls In Yours But Rain Is Still Rain So That’s Obviously Not The Justification We Need.

I Don’t Even Think We’ll Ever Be Able To Define Love, We Just Cannot Agree On One Definition, We Know Love When We See It Or Feel It But Still Cannot Define It, I Don’t Get The How We Know What It Is But We Do Not Really Know What It Is.

But We Are Certain About One Thing, It’s An Emotion, A Feeling Per Say, It’s More Of A Beautiful One But Then Sometimes It Hurts, So Bad, Very Bad, When Love Decides To Hurt, You’ll Definitely Hate Love, I Can Testify-I’m A Victim, Witness, Whatever You Choose To Call It ! Pain In Love Is One Of The Worst Things That Can Happen To A Human Being, Pain In Love Brings Out The Part Of Someone You Or The Person Never Thought Existed, It Changes A Lot, It’s Really Bad !

For The Record Love Is Not Just Limited To Partners If You Know What I Mean, It’s Extended To Family, Objects, Pets, Memories, Places And So On But In This Context We’re Obviously Talking About Partners/Spouses/Whatever, I Just Needed To Point That Out !

HOW TO AVOID BEING A DAUGHTER OF JEZEBEL

For the record, I wrote this for one Instagram blog few months ago, bringing this here !

I’m still uncertain if you found the topic (if I may call it that) offensive Or would I have said How to avoid being unfortunate, I really don’t know, coming up with the “topic” for this was hard

Oh well ! I used Jezebel because we all know who Jezebel was, she wasn’t a nice person, yea ? And perhaps her daughters would’ve been the same, I mean, I don’t know, but over here at my end, don’t know about your end, females that are not so nice are referred to as “Daughter(s) of Jezebel”

I’m not even going to lie, some of we ladies cross our limits sometimes without even thinking about the outcome, some of us just don’t know how to act, thanks to the ones that don’t know how to act, feminism in Africa would definitely be a joke (can y’all stop twisting the whole concept for a second), equality might not come anytime soon either but oh well, I’d drop a few tips on how not to become a daughter of Jezebel.

Stop false accusations 

Please, please, why do you have to lie that you were sexually assaulted ? You think it’s just a trend and you want to join the trend, do you know how sensitive that is ? For clout ? For revenge ? Seriously ! Why do you do that, STOP IT ! C’mon sis, you can do better than this

Support a fellow Queen

Now the society says women can never be friends without tearing each other down, without constantly fighting, there’s always a circle in a circle, We might want to turn blind eye to it, but we know it’s mostly true so why don’t we change the narrative and form genuine and strong bonds ? It wouldn’t hurt ! One woman is all powerful by herself, imagine the power that’ll come when she joins forces with another ! KABOOOOM ! Power Explosion (that’s a good thing by the way), gasssss your fellow female up, you don’t have to know her personally, you feel me ? And please only if she’s doing something that a good woman should do, not some daughter of Jezebel stuff

Know the difference, DOMINANCE & EQUALITY 

We’re fighting for equality and not world dominance, stop being a rebel ma’am, this is why they won’t take us seriously, just my P.O.V, think about it, I mean it wouldn’t hurt if we dominate the world for a second, the men have had it for a lonnnnnnng time but then we dominating would cause another war, thought we all wanted world peace, yea ? Now the goal is for us to be given the same chances the men are given, the number of men in power should be equal to that of women, let everything just be balanced or am I missing something ?

Don’t be judgy

The way some ladies are so quick to judge amazes me and it’s even funny when their judgement are false, they’ll just be jumping into conclusions like me diving in a pool during the weekend after a full week of loads of paper work and back aches and no sleep. Whether you learn this from a religion or a sense of personal morality, open-mindedness and delay of judgment will make you exemplary.

Aim for empathy

Being empathetic allows you to imagine how another person is feeling during a given situation. People who are empathetic are more likely to understand people’s emotions, are more likely to see things from other perspective and seeing things from different perspectives has definitely saved a lot of situations, I can relate, can you ?

Be patient 

Ha ! Some of us ladies are not patient at all ! Our blood is always boiling, Sis calm down, it’s not like that. Perhaps you are not aware but let me inform you now, Calm and patient people are often seen as “good” because they may be a constant and positive presence during a crisis. You will be less prone to over-reaction and argument if you can be patient with others and yourself.

Do things for the right reasons 

If you are volunteering your time because of guilt, peer-pressure or other fears, it’s not right/okay sis, it’s not ! you may want to focus on your own well being until you have the strength to give because you want to help people because you might end up hurting yourself and the people you’re doing things for and we don’t want to get hurt now, or do we ?

ALTERNATIVE MOVEMENT

Most people don’t understand the concept, they think it’s just a certain style of dressing or it’s a certain genre of music, you see my loves, it’s beyond that ! It’s our culture, it’s our religion, it’s beyond just a trend......

First we define Alternative, (I’m a sucker for definitions)

ALTERNATIVE defined according to COLLINS EASY LEARNING PRIMARY ENGLISH DICTIONARY is “something you can do or have instead of something else”.

There you have it folks ! This definition answers your questions, THE ALTÈ MOVEMENT is simply living life differently as we know it in a rather unique and more natural form, freely and not imprisoned by society rules, norms, vices, morals or whatever they choose to term it. Alternative is BEING YOU ! Not being you the way society wants or being you the way you should be you according to society, it’s being you the way your heart desires, the way your soul desires ! 

Most people that do not understand this concept call “ALTÈ KIDS” weird, creepy, different, odd, I’ve seen a lot of instances and experienced some myself, the Altè culture just suddenly started making it’s way to the limelight because of the fashion trends and unique music style and as usual we have people using the term carelessly without actually knowing what it stands for !

I just gave a brief explanation on the ALTÈ MOVEMENT ! Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to THE CHECK POINT, are you really ALTÈ ? Or you call yourself an ALTÈ KID because it’s a trend ? SELF-CONFIDENCE MEETS CONCEIT

According To The OXFORD ADVANCED LEARNER’s DICTIONARY (9th Edition)

CONCEIT can be defined as having TOO MUCH PRIDE IN YOURSELF AND WHAT YOU DO (disapproving) or AN ARTISTIC EFFECT OR DEVICE, ESPECIALLY ONE THAT IS VERY CLEVER OR TRIES TO BE VERY CLEVER BUT DOES NOT SUCCEED (formal) or A CLEVER EXPRESSION IN WRITING OR SPEECH THAT INVOLVES A COMPARISON BETWEEN TWO THINGS (specialist)

SELF-CONFIDENCE can be defined simply as HAVING CONFIDENCE IN YOURSELF 

In this article (if I may call it that) I’d be explaining the difference between CONCEIT and SELF-CONFIDENCE, yet a checkpoint to know if you’re SELF-CONFIDENT or you’re simply just CONCEITED (focus would be mainly on the first two definitions given above, the last does not really relate to our given topic) ! I feel being CONCEITED is a synonym for being OVER CONFIDENT or TOO/UNNECESSARILY PROUD ! Pride From My Point Of View Is A Necessity But How Do We Channel The Pride ? Are you Proud (for example, you love your country so much and would defend it no matter what) or are you Proud (you feel you can never make mistake, you’re a god of some kind, a perfect creature and hence you torture everyone with it).

Well, anyways, you’d know where you belong at the end of this article (once again, if I’m permitted to call it that) !

Warriors and Angels, this brings us to difference between SELF-CONFIDENCE and CONCEIT !

Now, spot the difference;

1. When Admitting Wrongs

•Confident people can openly admit they are wrong. When people think that by you ‘losing’ the other person ‘wins.’ When in reality ‘losing’ only makes you stronger.

•Conceited people strongly believe in ‘my way or the highway.’ This puts you above others and always makes you correct.

2. When Accepting Compliments

•Confident people accept compliments humbly and know that even if you believe the compliment isn't true you still accept it anyways, because rejecting a compliment is like rejecting their perception.

•Conceited people will respond from a compliment with ‘I know,’ and it doesn't get much ruder than that. Even if after you claim to be ‘just kidding’ everyone knows that there is some truth behind it.

3. When Carrying Yourself

•Confident people tend to walk around with their head held high and theirs shoulders back. Confident people are not afraid about certain situations because they always seem to be able to understand others view points.

•Conceited people will have the attitude as ‘their shit doesn’t stink’ and walk around with their nose in the air. It is hard for these people to sympathize with others situations because they feel as if they are grater than them not equal.

4. When Talking About Successes

•Confident people will mention all the hard work they put in plus they wont forget to mention all the others who helped them reach their goal.

•Conceited people strongly believe that they are the only factor for their success. They also tend to over exaggerate all of the obstacles they have over come just to reach their goal.

Now Warriors And Angels, Are You Conceited Or Confident ? Here’s A Fun Fact That’s Maybe Controversial, Sometimes, What We Refer To As CONCEITED might not be that deep, maybe its simply SELF-CONFIDENCE with an extra push due to some reasons and factors, we should not be quick to judge !

ARISTOCRATIC EGOTISM

I’ve seen the term Aristocrat, I know what it means and all terms relating to it-Aristocratic, Aristocracy...

I’ve also seen the term Ego, we know what it means and then, terms that are related to it-Egotistical, Egotism, Egocentric....

But I’ve never seen both of them used together, not until I was reading- This Side Of Paradise By F. Scott Fitzgerald.

Excuse me for being inquisitive but I was really interested in this phrase and decided to do my research.

Now I know my articles (can I call it that ?) are usually long but please be patient enough to read to the end, and I’m sorry but I always just have to get my dictionary involved, its makes the whole process easier to understand.

The Fact of thinking that you are better or more important than anyone else.

So quick one before we proceed, we can all agree that the term EGO and other relating terms (egotism, egotistic...) are more often associated with bad than good. But I beg to differ ! EGO is simply your sense of your own value and importance. We all have that, we alllll do ! But then most people take it a little farther and they become conceited, that’s not why we’re here, I’m just saying, we should stop using the term EGO wrongly or rather we should stop associating it with bad.

Moving on,

Aristocratic + Egotism 

Hmm....

Thinking you’re better than anyone else because of your high social class ? 

I definitely think this is it folks, no more, no less, what do you think ?

CYNICAL IDEALISM

I’ve seen this term over and over in books and trust me, I believe it’s a paradox and I know a few others that will agree with me. 

We Have To Understand “Cynical” and “Idealist” first before we’ll be able to determine further if the CYNICAL IDEALIST is indeed a paradox or I just haven’t been able to understand the concept vaguely.

In Understanding “Cynical”, we’d have to come in contact with terms like “Cynic” and “Cynicism” and in understanding “Idealist”, we’d have to refer to the term Idealism. I’ll define each of these terms separately to begin with and ref to the OXFORD ADVANCED LEARNER’S DICTIONARY (9th Edition) .

•CYNICAL : (adj)

-Believing that people only do things to help themselves rather than for good or honest reasons 

-Not believing that something good will happen or that something is important 

-Not caring that something might hurt other people, if there is some advantage for you

•CYNIC : (noun)

-A person who believes that people only do things to help themselves rather than for good and sincere reasons 

-A person who does not believe that something good will happen or that something is important 

•CYNICISM : (my own terms)

The act of being cynical 

•IDEALISM : 

(noun)

-The belief that a perfect life, situation etc can be achieved even when this is not very likely 

(Philosophy)

-The belief that our ideas are the only things that are real and that we can know about 

•IDEALIST : (my own terms)

A person who practices Idealism

Now that we have our definitions, we’d ask ourselves, can an Idealist be a Cynic or can a Cynic be an Idealist ?? From my perspective, hell no ! 

Why ?

Because a Cynic is like a realist, he sees life the way it is and lives it like that, he knows people, he doesn’t want to change them, he’d rather just live with them and an idealist ? Aims for perfection, he sees life the way it is and is not satisfied and would do anything to change it.

Hold on !

Let’s rewind a little bit

Let’s give a proper definition of a REALIST ref “a Cynic is like a REALIST”

A REALIST (noun)

-A person who accepts and deals with a situation as it really is and does not try to pretend that it is different 

-A writer, painter etc whose work represents things as they are in real life 

 A cynic is not always necessarily a realist but is like a realist, a cynic is actually what an idealist would call a realist in most cases, majority of the time ! Cynics are actually seen as bad people and I don’t get why, they’re the type that “cannot come and kill theirselves” (Nigerian saying) .

Somewhere while writing this, I was trying to decide if I was a Cynic or Idealist, and I was like most times I’m a Cynic and other times, I’m an Idealist and I was trying to find a term for that and just like the Holy Spirit came on the disciples, it dawned on me, “CYNICAL IDEALIST” , could this be the actual definition of a CYNICAL IDEALIST and the term is not so as PARADOX as we’ve thought it to be ?

THE BEAUTY IN BELIEF OR FAITH AS SOME MAY PREFER TO CALL IT

Been trying since forever to put this together but I can’t really arrange the words and every single time, I just get reminded that there’s something I want to say but haven’t said but regardless today I’ll put it any way I can, if it sounds like I’m not hitting the point, don’t be angry, bear with me till whenever words wouldn’t fail me no more....

“The Beauty Of Faith Or Is It Belief”

Most of you can and most of you cannot relate, but you know there’s a point you’ll hit and you feel like no one cares about you, like you’re alone and lonely and all that, that’s when the beauty of “Belief” comes to play !

Believing that there’s a God somewhere just makes it less painful, believing that this entity is constantly watching over you and is always by your side makes it less painful, being able to converse with this entity through prayer is another thing, you have someone to talk to ! 

Some might want to hit you with he doesn’t talk back, well that’s why our topic is “belief”, if you believe he’s talking back, then he’s talking back, if you don’t believe, then he isn’t, whatever you believe works for you, just pick your poison 

There was a time in your life you didn’t have problems with imaginary friends or with “ojuju” or “bushbaby” or whatever folklore you was told, the energy you used in believing them, tap into it then channel it into believing God, it becomes less painful

They Never Want To See Us Vote & We Never Do So We See The Same Things, Our Votes Count But They Just Don’t Let It Show ! Throwback To When We Did Social Studies, Civic Education & Government, We Were Taught Three Arms Of The Government; Judicial, Legislative & Executive.

All We Know & Focus On Is The EXECUTIVE ! Which Is The President, Governor Or The Local Government Chairman ! See These People Don’t Really Make The Laws Or Rule Us Per Say, They Just Approve Or Reject Whatever Comes To Their Desk, There’s A Whole Bunch Of People Behind The Curtains Which Are The LEGISLATORS (National Assembly) ! They’re The Ones That Make The Laws, Do You Know They Do Some Kind Of In House Elections There And We’re Not Even Part Of It, So When We Were Getting Distracted Voting The President 23/02/19, Their Own Election Was Going On & The People To Actually Decide Our Fate Was Being Chosen ! 

If The Country Fail, You Can’t Totally Say It’s The President’s Fault, It Was Somehow Our Fault Because We Didn’t Realize The National Assembly Votes Was For Us & We Don’t Even Bother To Push Them Out After 4years, We Just Let Them Sit & Keep Ruining Us, They Would Never Tell You This, They Want You To Focus On The President ! 

The Only Reason The Same Bad People Run The Government Is Because We Don’t Vote, Of Course I’m Not Talking About The President But The National Assembly But Then Let’s Raise Our Voice, Get PVC And At Least Try To Fix The One We See, It’ll Shock Them When They See The Polls, Shout Out To Edo People On Their Recent Election, That’s What Taking A Stand Can Do !
